Formica manufactures a number of different products for use as counter and back splash surfaces. These include laminate, special effects and solid surfacing products. Each products has it is own way to care and instructions for the users. Formica laminate is very long lasting, but as it is not a solid surface, any nick and dings are accumulate over the time tend to show. Unlike a solid surface product. The finish also tends to degrade over the time, but with proper care you can keep your Formica Laminate Table looking clean and shiny.
Wipe the dust and crumbs off the formica surface by using cotton cloth. When the dusts are removed, shake out the cloth and dampen it with water. Do this way twice for better result.
Clean the top of Formica Laminate Table by using a mixture of mild cleaner and water using a cotton or microfiber clothes. Does not use scrubbing brush because it is will scratch and mar the Formica surface. Rinse toughly with a detergent, mild cleanser and water to remove the residue that dulls the surface.
Use distilled vinegar to remove any old residue that was not removed by the cleaner and water. Rinse the vinegar off thoroughly.
Remove stains by applying a household cleaner such as Formula 409 or Pine Sol directly to the stain. Allow it to sit to draw out the stain, blot it up with a clean cloth and rinse with water. If the stain still remains, apply a paste of baking soda to the stained area. Do not rub, as baking soda can be abrasive; allow the paste to sit to draw out the stain, then gently wipe up and rinse thoroughly.
Dry the counter top with a clean cloth, and apply a coat of self-cleaning wax to shine the Formica Laminate Table surface. The wax will also prevent future stains.
